Ruiz scores twice in boys soccer’s win over North Miami

Boys tennis
John Glenn 4, Tippecanoe Valley 1 (Wednesday): Dylan Neese won in a third-set 10-point tiebreaker at No. 1 singles for Valley’s lone point in a home loss to John Glenn Wednesday.
Cam Manuel and Wyatt Reiter lost in straight sets at Nos. 2 and 3 singles, respectively. Brady Minix and Tristyn Ragon lost in straight sets at No. 2 doubles.
Annakin Pettit and Cooper Walls won the second set in a tiebreaker against Dylan Florey and Alex Kaser at No. 1 doubles but lost the third set in a 10-point tiebreak.
The JV match ended in a 1-1 tie. DeOndre Hamilton played both matches for Valley.

Tippecanoe Valley 3, Triton 2 (Tuesday): Cam Manuel won in straight sets at No. 2 singles, and Valley won both doubles matches by default in a road win over Triton Tuesday.
Dylan Neese lost in straight sets at No. 1 singles, and Wyatt Reiter lost in straight sets at No. 3 singles.
Valley’s DeOndre Hamilton won the lone singles match.

Boys soccer
Tippecanoe Valley 3, North Miami 1 (Tuesday): Returning to the Valley lineup after missing two weeks due to a knee injury, Jon Ruiz scored twice for the Vikings in a Three Rivers Conference road win over North Miami Tuesday.
Gio Arriaga also scored for Valley.
The game was called due to lightning with 24 minutes left.
Valley is 2-4-1 overall and 2-2 in the TRC.
Valley will host Marion at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Middle school volleyball
Tippecanoe Valley def. North Miami, 25-10, 25-16 (8th grade, Tuesday)
Tippecanoe Valley def. North Miami, 25-10, 25-14 (7th grade, Tuesday)
Dalynne Bussard and Maci Parker had five kills each for the TVMS eighth-graders in a win over North Miami Tuesday.
Bussard also had three aces. Lucinda Ruff had a team-high four aces.
Kalli Butcher had six assists and three aces. Jenna Prater had two assists and an ace. Betty Shepherd had a kill. Karley Hallstrom had an ace.
In the seventh grade match, Hadley Wise led Valley with 14 points, and Lillie Koch had seven.
Middle school football
TVMS 42, Peru 6 (8th grade, Tuesday): Wes Parker ran for 72 yards and two touchdowns and also had 31 yards receiving and a touchdown catch for the TVMS eighth-graders in a road win over Peru Tuesday.
Parker also had an interception to go along with two tackles on defense.
Grady Moriarty ran for 96 yards and two touchdowns and also had seven tackles, including one for loss, on defense.
Jamison Phillips threw a touchdown pass and also had two tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an interception on defense.
Gage Overbey had five tackles, including two for loss; a sack; and a fumble recovery on defense.
