Valley sports briefs: TVMS football sweeps North Miami

8th grade volleyball beats NorthWood, 7th-graders fall

Middle school football

Tippecanoe Valley 16, North Miami 14 (8th grade, Tuesday): Wes Parker ran for 101 yards and added 11 tackles and two interceptions on defense for the TVMS eighth-graders in a win over North Miami Tuesday.

Jamison Phillips ran for 71 yards and two touchdowns.

Grady Moriarty had five tackles – three of which were tackles for loss – and recovered a fumble. Gage Overbey had four tackles, including one for loss. Isaiah Ault had two tackles, including one for loss, and recovered a fumble.

Tippecanoe Valley 34, North Miami 0 (7th grade, Tuesday): Hunter Paxton ran for 109 yards and two touchdowns and also had an interception return for a touchdown in the TVMS seventh-graders win over North Miami Tuesday.

Owen Omondi ran for 44 yards and a touchdown and also had 48 yards receiving and a score. Hunter Stage ran for 71 yards and passed for 48 yards and accounted for two touchdowns – one rushing, one passing. Stage also had four tackles on defense.

Parker Adamson had four tackles on defense, including two for loss. Paxton had three tackles, including one for loss.

Braxton Alderfer had three tackles, including two for loss.

Middle school volleyball

TVMS def. NorthWood, 25-17, 25-23 (8th grade, Tuesday)

NorthWood def. TVMS, 25-17, 24-25, 15-10 (7th grade, Tuesday)

Maci Parker and Dalynne Bussard had five kills each for the TVMS eighth-graders win a win over visiting NorthWood. Karley Hallstrom added two kills.

Kalli Butcher had a team-high nine assists and four aces. Bussard and Gaby Gonzalez had three aces each. Parker, Hallstrom and Lucinda Ruff had one ace each.

Lindsay Peterson and Gonzalez had two assists each. Maris Overby had one assist.

In the seventh-grade match, Lillie Koch led TVMS with nine points in the loss. Bailey Anderson had seven points.
