Valley sports briefs: Weaver medalist in girls golf win over Columbia City, Wawasee

Weaver also takes medalist at Plymouth Invite as Lady Vikes place 2nd

Tippecanoe Valley 189, Columbia City 195, Wawasee 210 (Wednesday): Madelyn Weaver shot a 40 to earn medalist honors and lead Tippecanoe Valley Valley in a win over host Columbia City and Wawasee at Eagle Glen Golf Club on Wednesday.

The three teams are rivals in the Warsaw sectional.

Valley shoots 365, finishes 2nd at Plymouth Invite (Tuesday): Led by medalist Madelyn Weaver’s 80, the Valley girls golf team shot a 365 and finished second out of 12 complete teams at the Plymouth Invitational at Pretty Lake Golf Club Tuesday.

Kaydence Mellott and Lily Ault each added a 94, Molly Moriatrty had a 97, and Lydia Miller had a 112 to round out the Valley lineup.

New Prairie won the tournament with a 364.

Weaver edged New Prairie’s Jaiden Winters by two strokes for medalist honors. Six players in the field broke 90.
