Warsaw boys golf sectional moves to Columbia City

BY VAL TSOUTSOURIS

Boys golf

The boys golf sectional to which Tippecanoe Valley and Culver have been assigned will take place at Eagle Glen Golf Club, 129 South Eagle Glen Trail, Columbia City. Tee time is 8 a.m. Monday.

Rozella Ford Golf Club in Warsaw had hosted this sectional every year since 2014.

It is unclear why Rozella Ford is not hosting this year, when it was determined that it was not going to host or why Eagle Glen was chosen to replace Rozella Ford.

The top three teams and top three individuals on non-advancing teams will again advance to the Warsaw regional at Stonehenge Golf Club in Winona Lake on June 6.

This is not the first instance of Rozella Ford not hosting prep golf this year.

Rozella Ford and the Three Rivers Conference could not agree to host either of that conference’s tournaments this year. Those tournaments were subsequently assigned to Round Barn Golf Club at Mill Creek in Rochester (girls) and Rock Hollow Golf Club at Peru (boys).

Valley went 10-2 in dual matches this year and won an Indiana Northern State Conference “Preview” tournament which included the schools that will be in Valley’s new conference that will start play next year.

Culver’s team consists of one player – Aleks Stacy.
