Week 1 preview: Culver to host familiar foe North Judson

North Judson at Culver, 7:30 p.m.

The trail from Starke County to School Street in Culver is a well-worn one for the North Judson and Culver football teams.

Conference and sectional rivals, they will meet for the 10th time in the last six years Friday. North Judson has won the previous nine, including wins over Culver in each of the last four sectionals.

Both teams will have new quarterbacks. Culver graduated quarterback Jason Cadle, and sophomore Jonas McCuen is replacing him.

North Judson will look to replace the graduated Aldric Harper, who started the last two years at quarterback, and Cheyenne Allen, who scored 34 touchdowns last season.

This could be a test for the Culver offensive line that has only one returning starter in Braiden Molebash.

North Judson is the two-time defending regional champion, falling at home to Adams Central in the semistate each of the last two years.
