Yadon catches TD pass in Caston loss to West Central; Shuman runs for 4 TDs in Culver win over North Newton; Pioneer falls to Triton

Tippecanoe Valley 50, Peru 0 (Friday): Cody Eastgate threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns to Wade Jones, and Nate Parker ran for 94 yards and a touchdown for the visiting Vikings in a win over Peru in a Class 3A, Sectional 28 quarterfinal Friday.
Brock Derf had a 47-yard touchdown run, and Karl Parker and Grady Moriarty also had touchdown runs for Valley.
Jones, back from a two-game injury-related absence, had four receptions for 82 yards.
Nate Engstrand had a fumble return for a touchdown as part of a 37-point third quarter. The Valley defense also notched a safety in the third quarter.
Valley led 6-0 at halftime.
Valley outgained Peru 358-122.
Gage Overbey converted six extra points.
Valley has beaten Peru by a combined score of 136-31 in their last three meetings.
Valley will host No. 12 Guerin Catholic at 7 p.m. Friday in the semifinals.

West Central 28, Caston 6 (Friday): Grant Yadon had four receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown and also had five tackles and an interception on defense, but the Caston football team lost to West Central in a Class 1A, Sectional 43 quarterfinal at the Comet Crater Friday.
Jabez Yarber had a team-high 83 yards rushing on 12 carries, and he added seven tackles on defense.
Kyle Roudebush led the defense with 10 tackles. Landon Shafer and Levi Martin had seven tackles each. Gavin Mollenkopf had six tackles; Oliver Trigg had five tackles’ Evan Howard, Pete DuVall and Chase Angot had four tackles each.
Angot and Noah Herd each recovered a fumble.
Yadon caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Shafer on fourth-and-12 in the third quarter that cut a West Central lead to 14-6.
Roudebush had a 67-yard touchdown run negated by penalty in the second quarter.
West Central led 6-0 at halftime.
Caston finished 0-10 and will carry a 14-game losing streak into the 2023 season.
West Central improved to 9-1 and will host Taylor in a sectional semifinal this Friday.

Culver 50, North Newton 8 (Friday): Shane Shuman ran 17 times for 213 yards and four touchdowns, and Ryan Beem returned the opening kickoff of the second half 84 yards for a touchdown for the Cavaliers in a home win over North Newton in a Class 1A, Sectional 41 quarterfinal Friday.
Quarterback Jason Cadle had a 42-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, and Ian Brown ran 63 yards for a score in the third quarter for Culver, who improved to 6-4.
Shuman also had two two-point conversion runs and kicked two extra points. Oliver Morgan caught a two-point conversion pass from Cadle.
Conner Scotella had a 1-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter for the Spartans (0-9).
Culver won their sectional opener for the fourth straight year. They will host South Central (Union Mills) in a semifinal next week. South Central beat Bowman Academy 20-12 in their quarterfinal.

Triton 42, Pioneer 6 (Friday): Tyler Zellers had an eight-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, but host Pioneer fell to Triton in a Class 1A, Sectional 41 quarterfinal at The Pit Friday.
Cole Shively ran for three touchdowns and also threw a touchdown pass to Evan Briles for Triton (7-3). Shively also kicked six extra points without a miss.
Triton beat Pioneer for the second time this year. They will travel to No. 5 North Judson in the semifinals this Friday.
Pioneer finished 2-8. This marks their first losing season since 1995 and their fewest wins in a season since 1994.

Michael Loehmer added a safety in the fourth quarter for Winamac (2-8).
Cash Roth had 84 yards passing and another 23 yards rushing. Jayse Bentle caught three passes for 31 yards. Maddox Bucinski had a team-high 30 yards rushing.
LCC led 31-6 at halftime.
Evan Dienhart caught two touchdown passes, returned a kickoff for a touchdown and returned a punt for a touchdown for the Knights (7-3).
Winamac’s two wins were their fewest in a season since 1992.

Benton Central 34, Delphi 7 (Friday): Benton Central jumped out to a 14-0 halftime lead and cruised past the host Oracles in a Class 2A, Sectional 34 quarterfinal Friday.
Benton Central improved to 4-6 and will host Rochester (9-1) in a semifinal at 7 p.m. this Friday.
Benton Central won a sectional game for the first time since 2014. They have not advanced to a sectional final since 2012 or had a winning season since 2011.
Guerin Catholic 24, Oak Hill 21 (Friday): Justin Zbodylak had for 194 yards and a touchdown, and Evan Guenther kicked a 36-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to break a 21-21 tie and give visiting No. 12 Guerin Catholic a win over previously unbeaten No. 3 Oak Hill in a Class 3A, Sectional 28 quarterfinal Friday.
Guerin Catholic will travel to Tippecanoe Valley (9-1) for a semifinal at 7 p.m. this Friday.
South Central (Union Mills) 20, Bowman Academy 12 (Friday): The host Satellites defeated Bowman Academy in a Class 1A, Sectional 41 quarterfinal and improved to 3-7. They will travel to Culver (6-4) in a semifinal this Friday.
