Winamac (1-6, 0-5 Hoosier North) at Caston (0-7, 0-5), 7 p.m.
The winner of the Winamac-Caston battle Friday will win their first conference game.
Winamac is coming off a 20-14 loss to West Central last week in a nonconference game in which West Central scored as many defensive touchdowns as Winamac scored offensive touchdowns (two).
Caston is coming off a 38-12 loss to Culver. They trailed 14-12 in the third quarter and attempted a two-point conversion that could have tied the game but wound up not converting and yielding 24 unanswered points to close out the game.
Caston committed four turnovers – three fumbles and an interception that was returned for a touchdown – against Culver.
Winamac running back Jadon Jones led his team in rushing yards (99) and receiving yards (52) against West Central.
Caston ran the ball 26 times against Culver but averaged only 2.5 yards per carry. Meanwhile, senior quarterback Landon Shafer threw it 17 times. Grant Yadon had a team-high three receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown, and Kyle Roudebush also had three receptions.
Winamac beat Caston 49-8 last season and has not lost to Caston since 2012.
