Ten Rochester student-athletes participated at the Three Rivers Conference Sportsmanship Summit at Grace College in Winona Lake Monday.
The summit was designed to educate student-athletes about sportsmanship and character training in athletics.
“We are pleased to be a part of building character at the high school level through the Sportsmanship Summit,” Grace College athletic director Chad Briscoe said in a statement. “We hope it served as a great opportunity to educate and reinforce character education and to help promote the importance of sportsmanship for each student-athlete.”
The Sportsmanship Summit featured sessions from radio broadcaster Roger Grossman and Briscoe. Student-athletes also took turns sitting on a panel and answering questions in a peer-to-peer teaching environment.
The Rochester student-athletes were boys golfer Adam Reinhold; girls tennis players Vivian Miller and Abriella St. Martin; football player-wrestler Kale Shotts; tennis player-track and field athlete Landon Weaver; volleyball-basketball-softball players Aubrey Wilson, Jadyn Field and Brailyn Hunter; boys soccer player Tanner Krom; and swimmer-softball player Audrey Widman.
