Baseball’s games vs. Career Academy, O-D canceled

Knox 6, Argos 0 (Thursday): Ava Jensen and Cheryl Barnes combined on a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts for Knox in a win over host Argos Thursday.
Jensen allowed one hit and one walk while striking out four over the first three innings. Barnes followed with four hitless innings, walking two and striking out eight.
Jordynn Goins had two hits for Knox. Sarah Fort tripled and had two RBIs.
Knox scored all six of their runs in the second inning.

Westville 5, Argos 0 (Wednesday): Kierstin Vargas pitched a two-hit shutout with 16 strikeouts as Argos lost their opener to sectional rival Westville Wednesday.
Vargas also went 4 for 4 at the plate with a single, two doubles and a triple. She also had two RBIs. Maddison Cole had two hits and an RBI.
Argos will return to Westville for Class 1A, Sectional 50 from May 20-25.

Triton game moved up to April 6: The Argos-Triton softball game originally scheduled for April 30 has been moved up to April 6. Game time is 10 a.m. at Triton.
Baseball
Argos’ games against Career Academy, O-D canceled: The Argos baseball team’s two-game series against South Bend Career Academy on April 5-6 and their game against Oregon-Davis on April 16 have been canceled.
No reason was given for the cancellation.
South Bend Career Academy lost 28-0 to Wheeler in last year’s sectional.
