Redinger scores career-high 34 for Lady Dragons, but Lady Comets close on 17-2 run

Caston 66, Argos 46 (Thursday): Freshman guard Madi Douglass came off the bench to score 23 points in her varsity debut to lead the Caston girls basketball team past host Argos in the season opener for both teams at Phil Weybright Gymnasium Thursday.
Addison Zimpleman added 19, and Isabel Scales added 12, all in the third quarter.
Caston trailed 30-26 at halftime but came back to take a 49-44 lead after three quarters. They then pulled away with a 17-2 run in the fourth quarter.
Douglass scored 11 points in the fourth quarter alone.
Samantha Redinger hit four 3-pointers and scored a career-high 34 points, but no other Argos player had more than five. Redinger had 10 of Argos’ 14 field goals.
Caston allowed only 33.5 points per game to opposing teams in 2022-23.
Caston beat Argos for the fourth straight year.
