Herbert scores 20 in season debut, helps Culver beat Knox

Culver 52, Knox 29 (Dec. 10): Mason Herbert scored a game-high 20 points in his season debut, and Emiliano Ortiz added 14 for the host Cavaliers as theory won their Hoosier North opener over Knox at John R. Nelson Gymnasium Dec. 10.

Shane Shuman added eight, Oliver Morgan had four, and Ethan Keller and Joey Pizur had three points each.

Freshman Myles McLaughlin led Knox with eight points.

Culver led 12-6 after one quarter and extended the lead to 27-15 at halftime.

Culver is 4-4 against Knox since the schools became conference rivals in 2015.

Culver beat Knox in girls and boys basketball in the same season for the first time in nine years.
