Hunter’s 13 kills, Wieringa’s 11 kills help Rochester beat Peru in 4

Rochester def. Peru, 25-14, 16-25, 25-22, 26-24 (Thursday): Brailyn Hunter had 13 kills, and Amara Wieringa added 11 kills for the visiting Lady Zs in a win over sectional rival Peru at Tig-Arena Thursday.

Adalyn Gonzalez added eight kills, and Aubrey Wilson and Makayla Walley had four kills each.

Wilson led with 31 assists, and she and Logyn Honkomp had 11 points each.

Honkomp led with 25 digs and 13 serves received. Wilson had 12 digs with Walley, Wieringa and Gonzalez having eight digs each.

Walley had 12 serves received.

Rochester improved to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in the Three Rivers Conference. They will host Southwood tomorrow.

Rochester is No. 18 in this week’s Class 2A IndianaPrepVolleyball.com ratings. Southwood is No. 2.

Rochester also won the JV match 20-25, 25-9, 15-13 to improve to 6-4.
