McCarter, Clevenger win, but Rochester falls without Paulik

Girls tennis

Northfield 3, Rochester 2 (Thursday): Ella McCarter and Rylee Clevenger both pulled out three-set matches in singles, but the visiting Lady Zs lost to Northfield to drop to 3-3 in Three Rivers Conference play Thursday.

McCarter beat Elli Baker 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Clevenger outlasted Callie Hoffman 603, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.

Audrey Bolinger lost to Gabby Haupert in three sets at No. 2 singles.

The teams of Taylor Howard and Chloe Nichols at No. 1 doubles, and Vivian Miller and Sophie McCall both lost at No. 2 doubles.

Rochester coach Adrian Paulik missed the match after delivering daughter Ripley Grace earlier Thursday.

Joe McCarter served as acting coach.
