Morris, Manikowski score in double figures, but Argos loses to LaVille in Bi-County semis

LaVille 59, Argos 52 (Friday): J.J. Morris scored 19 points, and Nate Manikowski added 12 for Argos in a loss to LaVille at Dale E. Cox Gymnasium in a Bi-County semifinal Friday.

Sean Richard added nine points for the Dragons, who lost to LaVille for the second time this season and fell to 9-4. They also lost 47-46 at LaVille on Dec. 6.

Collin Czarnecki scored 17 of his game-high 29 points in the second half for the Lancers (7-7), who have already exceeded last year’s win total of four. Lucas Plummer added 11.

Argos led 12-10 after one quarter, 22-20 at halftime and 39-38 through three quarters before LaVille outscored Argos 21-13 in the fourth.

LaVille will play John Glenn, a 56-22 winner over Triton, in the final at approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday at LaVille.

New Prairie beat Bremen 52-43, and Culver took down Oregon-Davis 59-40 in the consolation games.
