Boys basketball
Argos 44, Trinity Greenlawn 27 (Tuesday): J.J. Morris scored 18 of his game-high 28 points in the second half to help the Argos boys basketball team pull away in the second half against visiting Trinity Greenlawn and improve to 2-0 in Hoosier Plains play at Phil Weybright Gymnasium Tuesday.
Luke Stults and Sean Richard added seven points each, and A.J. Mills hit a pair of free throws in the fourth quarter.
Josh Rose had 11 for Trinity Greenlawn (1-9, 0-2 Hoosier Plains). Leading scorer Gabe Hunsberger was held to three points. Zac Roeder, who scored 14 points off the bench against Rochester Friday at the Wawasee Holiday Invitational, was held scoreless.
Argos led 14-9 at halftime.
Argos, ranked No. 16 in Class 1A, won their fourth straight game overall and beat Trinity Greenlawn for the third straight year. Argos, Bethany Christian (1-0) and Elkhart Christian (0-0) are the only remaining unbeatens in the Hoosier Plains. Argos will host Bethany Christian on Friday.
In the JV game, Corbin Rex led Argos with six points in a 47-17 loss. Hunter Xaver had five, Hayden Hensler had three, and Mac Calhoun had three.
