Girls basketball
Winamac 53, North White 17 (Thursday): Sadie Popejoy scored 16 points, and Maggie Smith added 13 for the host Lady Warriors as they beat visiting North White Thursday.
Kandace Kroft and Marissa Iverson had six points each, and Kaelyn O’Connor had five.
Winamac improved to 4-2 and equaled their win total from last season.
Smith and Popejoy scored eight points each in the first quarter as Winamac built a 20-5 lead. They extended the lead to 33-10 at halftime.
Winamac had lost their previous two meetings against North White.
