Boys basketball
Triton 43, Caston 34 (Feb. 4): Colby Pugh hit a pair of three-pointers in the fourth quarter and scored a team-high 12 points, and Cain Schanlaub scored all eight of his points in the second half, but the Caston boys basketball team dropped a Hoosier North road game to Triton at the Trojan Trench on Feb. 4.
Caston fell to 6-10 overall and 1-3 in the Hoosier North. Triton improved to 9-7, 4-1.
Cole Shively scored 12 of his game-high 23 points in the fourth quarter for Triton. The game was tied at halftime. Triton led 24-22 going into the fourth quarter.
Caston hit five 3-pointers, but Triton outscored Caston 19-1 from the foul line.
This was the teams’ first meeting at the Trojan Trench since Triton beat Caston in two overtimes in a 2021 Class 1A regional semifinal.
