Boys golf
The Rochester boys golf team shot a 336 and finished in second place out of 15 teams at the season-opening Rochester Invitational at Round Barn Golf Club at Mill Creek Saturday.
Chesterton won with a 317. Culver Academy and Huntington North both shot 337 and tied for third with both teams’ fifth player shooting a 95.
Noah Riffle led Rochester with a 77, but he lost a sudden-death playoff against Chesterton’s Bo Smith for medalist honors.
Freshman Isaac Heishman carded an 84, J.R. McLochlin had an 85, Davis Renie had a 90, and Ashton Musselman had a 95.
Meanwhile, Rochester’s JV team shot a 409 and finished in 13th place.
Enrique Navarro shot a 90, Brady Morgan had a 99, Jack Reffett had a 101, Brevin Nicholson had a 119, and Parker Brown had a 126.
