Rochester can’t hold leads vs. Twin Lakes, N. Central, goes 0-2 at Twin Lakes Classic

The Rochester baseball team went 0-2 at the Twin Lakes Classic Saturday, extending their losing streak to six games and dropping their record to 10-15.

Rochester lost to Twin Lakes 6-4 and to North Central 16-6 in five innings.

Callen Ferverda went 2 for 3 with a single and a double, and Parker Casper had a hit and two RBIs in the loss to North Central (Indianapolis).

Brady Coleman, Linden Wilburn, Conner Dunfee and Mitchell Clark added one hit each.

Dunfee took the loss on the mound, allowing six earned runs in 2 ⅔ innings. Brayson Flory, Casper and Wilburn combined to allow eight runs in relief.

Rochester led 6-1 going into the bottom of the third before North Central came up with back-to-back seven-run innings in the third and fourth.

Against Twin Lakes, Casper had two hits and two runs scored, and Brant Beck and Carson Paulik each had a double and an RBI. Liam Spence singled and had an RBI.

Coleman, Zakk Parks and Trent Meadows had one hit each.

Rochester led 3-0 going into the bottom of the fourth, but Twin Lakes scored two runs off Spence and four more off Beck in the fifth to go ahead for good.

Rochester will play conference games at Whitko Tuesday and home against Lewis Cass Wednesday before traveling to Bremen Thursday.
