Boys golf
The Rochester boys golf team shot a 356 and finished sixth out of nine teams at the Warsaw Invitational at Stonehenge Golf Club in Winona Lake May 4.
Reece Renie led RHS with a 79. J.R. McGlochlin and Drew Strasser each shot a 92, Wade Shafer had a 93, and Noah Riffle had a 103.
Warsaw’s black team won the tournament with a 328.
Plymouth’s Bennett Christy was the medalist with a 73.

Rochester shoots 379 at Rock Hollow, finishes 19th (May 1): The Rochester boys golf team shot a 379 and finished 19th out of 21 teams at the Hall of Fame Invitational at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru May 1.
Reece Renie led the Zebras with an 83. J.R. McGlcchlin had a 98, Wade Shafer and Drew Strasser each had 99s, and Noah Riffle had a 101.
Bloomington South won the tournament with a 319. Cathedral’s Ryan Ford was the medalist with a 73.

Wade Shafer added a 42, Drew Strasser had a 43, Noah Riffle had a 47, and Dryden Vance had a 51.
Kyler Bryant led Whitko with a 44.
RHS also won the JV match 224-263 behind J.R. McGlochlin’s 51.

Girls tennis
Rochester 3, Tippecanoe Valley 2 (May 3): Hannah Houston and Ryli Rouch both won in straight sets in singles, and Lilli Eaton and Carli Richard won in straight sets at No. 2 doubles for the visiting Lady Zs in a win over Valley May 3.
Houston beat Hannah Parson in straight sets at No. 1 singles, and Rouch beat Peyton Oldham 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
Eaton and Richard eked out the first set tiebreak over Bri Feldman and Kaydence Shepherd 9-7 and then went on to record a 7-6 (7), 6-2 win.
Valley’s points came from No. 2 singles player Hannah Engstrand and the No. 1 doubles team of Mackenzie Costello and Kaitlin Neese.
Engstrand recorded a 6-2, 6-4 win over Kim Banic. Costello and Neese topped Molly Conley and Kylie Houston 6-2, 6-1.
Valley won the JV match 3-1.

Rochester 4, Wabash 1 (April 30): Rochester swept all three singles matches, and Lilli Eaton and Carli Richard also won at No. 2 doubles for Rochester as they broke a six-match losing streak against visiting Wabash April 30.
Hannah Houston won in straight sets over Linda Fu at No. 1 singles, and Kim Banic took down Talia Carrillo in straight sets at No. 2 singles. Ryli Rouch won by default at No. 3 singles.
Eaton and Richard won 6-0, 6-0.
Molly Conley and Kylie Houston lost in straight sets at No. 1 doubles.
