Schanlaub, Pugh score 11 each for Caston in home loss to Carroll

Boys basketball

Carroll (Flora) 68, Caston 43 (Dec. 9): Cain Schanlaub and Colby Pugh scored 11 points each, and Talon Zeider and Caleb Stinson had nine each, but the host Comets fell to Carroll (Flora) on Dec. 9.

Caston dropped to 1-3 with the loss.

Chris Huerta scored 19 points, Griffin Viney had 15, and Jake Skinner had 13 for the Cougars. A Class 2A regional champion in 2021-22, Carroll improved to 4-0 this season.

Carroll led 23-18 after one quarter and extended the lead to 37-27 at halftime.

Caston lost to Carroll for the sixth consecutive year.
