Shooting woes plague Caston in loss to Carroll

Carroll (Flora) 58, Caston 32 (Thursday): Madi Douglass scored 14 points and dished out four assists for Caston in a loss to Carroll in their home finale Thursday.

Allison Craig hit a pair of 3-pointers and had eight, and Adyson Steininger also hit two treys and had six.

Caston shot just 22.5 percent from the field and made just 4 of 11 free throws. By contrast, Carroll shot 52.5 percent from the field and made 15 of 21 free throws.

Carroll led 28-15 at halftime and extended the lead to 44-19 after three quarters.

Caston lost to Carroll (15-6) for the fourth straight year.

This marked the final home game for Caston seniors Camila Hernandez-Rios and Emily Rodas.

Caston (9-12) closes out the regular season with a road game at sectional rival DeMotte Christian at 2:30 p.m. today.
