Short-handed Rochester girls tennis falls to Maconaquah

Girls tennis

Maconaquah 5, Rochester 0 (Wednesday): Playing without three regular varsity players, Rochester lost all five matches in straight sets to the host Lady Braves Wednesday.

Emma Murphy, Abriella St. Martin and Shelby Pearson lost in singles.

Hailey Crissinger and Ella Ramsey made their debut at No. 1 doubles and lost, and Liz Brower and Savannah Wolters lost in their first match as a varsity pairing at No. 2 doubles.

Rochester was playing without No. 1 singles player Olivia Bailey, No. 2 singles player Ellie Straeter and No. 1 doubles player J.J. Graber. Bailey and Graber were ill, and Straeter had an excused absence.

Rochester is 5-8 overall and 2-5 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Maconaquah also won the JV match 1-0.

RESULTS: MACONAQUAH 5, ROCHESTER 0

Singles

Emma Murphy (RHS) lost 6-1, 6-1.

Abriella St. Martin (RHS) lost 6-0, 6-4.

Shelby Pearson (RHS) lost 6-0, 6-0.

Doubles

Hailey Crissinger-Ella Ramsey (RHS) lost 6-2, 6-4.

Liz Brower-Savannah Wolters (RHS) lost 6-0, 6-0.

JV RESULTS: MACONAQUAH 1, ROCHESTER 0

Singles

Raylee Fry (RHS) lost 8-0.
