Stinson scores 26, Zeider tallies 19 as Caston beats West Central

Mollenkopf adds career-high 10 as Comets beat Trojans for 5th straight time

Caston 80, West Central 47 (Tuesday): Caleb Stinson scored 19 of his game-high 26 points in the first half, and Talon Zeider hit five 3-pointers and added 19 points for the host Comets in a win over sectional rival West Central Tuesday.

Gavin Mollenkopf added a career-high 10 off the bench for the Comets (5-7).

Caston hit 11 3-pointers and made 11 of 14 free throws in bouncing back from a 17-point loss at Rochester Saturday. This game was postponed on Jan. 13 and again on Monday.

Bryce Nannenga scored 22 points, and Christian Hughes had 11 for the Trojans (2-10).

Caston trailed 16-15 after one quarter before coming back to take a 38-28 halftime lead.

Caston has won the last five meetings against West Central.
