Rochester’s Ava Thomas shot a 45 to share medalist honors with Wabash’s Annie Cole, but the visiting Lady Apaches pulled out a 206-207 win over the Lady Zs in a nine-hole girls golf dual covering the back nine at Round Barn Golf Club at Mill Creek Aug. 18.
Payton Moore shot a 48, Kat Rensberger had a 56, Delaney Barkman had a 59, and Avery Brouyette had a 60 for Rochester.
Moore’s score was lower than Wabash’s second lowest number, but Wabash’s third and fourth beat Rochester’s third and fourth.
Thomas’ round included pars on the par-5 11th hole, the par-4 15th hole and the par-4 18th hole.
Savanah Eccles carded a 60, and Emma Bays had a 70 for the Rochester JV.
Rochester was coming off a 184-214 loss to Western the previous day.
“Tonight was better than last night but still higher than where I think we can be and should be,” Rochester coach Chad Thomas said. “I’d like to see us under 200. We’re very capable of shooting under 200. We just all have to make it click on the same night.”
