Valley boys golf finishes 6th at Warsaw sectional

Young leads Vikings with 81, Parker adds 82 at Eagle Glen

The Tippecanoe Valley boys golf team shot a 354 and finished sixth out of 10 complete teams at the Warsaw sectional at Eagle Glen Golf Club in Columbia City Monday.

Ethan Young led Valley with an 81, Wes Parker had an 82, Nash Bouse had a 95, Evan Bolinger had a 96, and Thad Shambaugh had a 108.

Meanwhile, Culver had an incomplete team. Jacob Ringer was the only golfer representing the Cavaliers, and he carded a 135.

Warsaw won the sectional with a 313, and Plymouth (313) and Culver Academy (320) also advanced to the Warsaw regional, which Stonehenge Golf Club in Winona Lake will host Thursday.

Warsaw beat Plymouth on the fifth player’s score tiebreaker for the title. Warsaw won their third consecutive sectional title and their 32nd in school history.

The top three teams at each sectional advanced.

Northfield’s Tyson Baer (70), Wawasee’s Hudson Cripe (77) and Huntington North’s Javin Gray (78) had the three lowest scores among individuals on non-advancing teams, and they also advanced to the regional. 

Baer was the medalist for the second time in his career. He was also the sectional medalist in 2023 when the sectional was held at Rozella Ford Golf Club in Warsaw.
