No RTC area swimmers advanced to the IHSAA state finals from the Warsaw sectional Saturday.
Culver Academy won their third consecutive team title with 455 points. Warsaw was second with 379.
Pioneer was seventh in the 12-team field with 132 points, Tippecanoe Valley was eighth with 85, and Rochester and Culver tied for 11th with 47.
Pioneer senior Chloe Chan and Valley’s Kendall Craig, both seniors, and Culver sophomore were the highest finishing individual swimmers, taking fourth in their respective events. Chan was fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.69, but Culver Academy’s Natalia Pragale won the title in 1:10.24.
Craig was fourth in the 200 freestyle in 2:12.12, but Columbia City sophomore Holly Oelschlager won in 2:04.21.
Lute was fourth in the 500 freestyle in 5:57.97, but Columbia City freshman Erin Devito won in 5:22.78.
Chan also made the 50 freestyle final, where she finished seventh in 26.68 seconds. Lute also made the 200 individual medley final, where she took seventh in 2:31.07.
No Rochester swimmer reached an individual final, but freshman Kylie Haselby was 15th in the 100 backstroke in 1:19.13 and also 12th in diving with 230.00 points.
Only sectional champions and those who met a difficult state qualifying standard advanced to state. The top four divers, none of which hailed from the RTC area, advanced to the Valparaiso diving regional.
Pioneer was the only area school in which all three relays made the final. The 200 medley relay was seventh, the 200 freestyle relay was sixth, and the 400 freestyle relay was sixth.
Valley was 10th in the 200 medley relay and eighth in both the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays.
Rochester was 11th in the 200 medley relay and 10th in both the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays.
Culver was 12th in both the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays, and they did not have a 400 freestyle relay team.
Other Valley individual swimmers participating in consolation races included Craig, who was ninth in the 500 freestyle; and Cassie Rich, who was 14th in the 100 backstroke.
Other Pioneer swimmers participating in consolation races included sophomore Cailyn Colford, who was 13th in the 200 individual medley and 10th in the 100 backstroke; Kylie Attinger, who was 11th in the 50 freestyle; and Elizabeth Rance, who was 11th in the 500 freestyle.
Gracie Clem was also 11th in diving.

The Tippecanoe Valley girls swimming team scored 85 points and finished eighth out of 12 teams at the Warsaw sectional Saturday. Culver Academy scored 455 points to win the sectional for the third consecutive year. Kendall Craig, standing, fourth from the left, finished fourth in the 200 freestyle and ninth in the 500 freestyle and was the team’s high scorer.
