Valley sets 9-hole school record in win over Northwestern, Peru

Tippecanoe Valley 171, Northwestern 179, Peru 207 (Tuesday): The Valley girls golf team fired a school-record 171 for nine holes in defeating host Northwestern and Peru at Green Acres Golf Course in Kokomo Tuesday.
Madelyn Weaver led Valley with a 39, Kaydence Mellott had a 42, Lily Ault had a 44, Molly Moriarty had a 46, and Cheney Canada had a 49.
Canada’s score was a personal best for nine holes.
Valley’s previous best mark for nine holes was a 175 in 2004.
Valley is 3-0 in match play.

Girls soccer
Gordon: 15 girls on roster: Valley girls soccer coach Mark Gordon is reporting 15 girls on his roster. He also said he has two to three managers.
Alyssa Brito, a Valley grad who previously played on the coed team, will be an assistant coach. Brito also has playing experience at Ancilla College.
The first game in Valley girls soccer history is at Culver at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
