Girls basketball

Argos 45, Culver Academy 39 (Friday): Madi VanDerWeele scored 10 points to lead a balanced Argos scoring attack in a home win over previously unbeaten Culver Academy Friday.

Lizzy Edmonds and Sydney Shepherd added eight points each, Emma Dunlap had seven, Sophie Bollenbacher had six, and Isabella Stults had four.

Argos hung on despite Edmonds fouling out in the fourth quarter. Dunlap scored all seven of her points in the fourth quarter.

Argos snapped an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season. The win was the first career coaching win for Scott Jennings.

Argos led 17-11 at halftime.

Argos to host SB Career Academy Thursday: The Argos girls basketball team will host South Bend Career Academy at 6 p.m. Thursday. Varsity only.

Boys basketball

Boone Grove 54, Argos 48 (Saturday): J.J. Morris scored 18 points, Jake Stults had 13, and Michael Richard had 10 for the visiting Dragons in a loss to Boone Grove Saturday.

Dylan Kindig added four points, Caden Nifong had two, and Zak Heiman had one.

The game was tied 27-27 at halftime. Boone Grove led 41-37 after three quarters.

Trey Steinhilber hit two 3-pointers and scored a game-high 21 points for Boone Grove. Steinhilber also had six assists.

Argos 41, Plymouth 38 (Dec. 4): J.J. Morris scored 11 points, Jake Stults had 10, and Dylan Kidig chipped in with nine for Argos in a home win over Plymouth Dec. 4.

Michael Richard added six, Sean Richard had three, and Caden Nifong had two for Argos (2-1).

Nolan Bales scored a game-high 13 for the Pilgrims (0-3). Easton Strain added 11.

The win was Argos’ first over Plymouth since Feb. 13, 1999.

Plymouth led 17-14 at halftime, but Caston held Plymouth to two points in the third quarter and led 27-19 after three quarters.
