Bowyer scores 4 TDs as Caston routs S. Central; Rans has record-setting game in Pioneer’s win over NM; Triton pulls away in 4th to beat Winamac; N. Judson beats Culver for 13th straight time

Tippecanoe Valley 38, LaVille 28 (Friday): Grady Moriarty ran for 194 yards and a touchdown, and Wes Parker ran for 121 yards and two touchdowns for the host Vikings as they downed LaVille Friday.

Gage Overbey added a 19-yard interception return for a touchdown, kicked a 26-yard field goal and converted all five of his extra points.

Owen Omondi added a 27-yard touchdown run.

Valley had 64 offensive snaps – 59 runs, 5 passes. They outgained the Lancers on the ground 395-127.

Hudson Shepherd added an interception. The Valley defense yielded 257 passing yards and 384 total yards but also finished with three takeaways.

Valley improved to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the Indiana Northern State Conference.

Brayden Schwitz threw touchdown passes of 90 and 58 yards to Konnor Amor and also ran for two scores for LaVille (2-3, 0-2).

Valley led 24-14 at halftime.

Caston 46, South Central (Union Mills) 0 (Friday): Ashton Bowyer ran for 115 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries, and he also had two receptions for 31 yards and a touchdown for the visiting Comets in a Hoosier North road rout of South Central Friday.

Gavin Mollenkopf accounted for 87 yards of offense – 44 passing, 43 rushing – while throwing a touchdown pass to Bowyer and also running for a score.

Gage Minniear and Carson Hamman also ran for touchdowns.

Caston had 376 yards of offense.

Bowyer, Reed Sommers and Gage Minniear each had an interception on defense, and Logan Mollenkopf had a fumble recovery. Sommers, Mollenkopf and Kayden Rigney each had a pass defended. Parker Zimpleman had a sack.

Tucker Woolever had eight tackles, and Brayden Unger and Bowyer added four tackles each. Sommers, Gavin Mollenkopf, Landen Rigney, Jayden Cox and Zimpleman had three tackles each.

Caston led 33-0 at halftime.

Pioneer 41, North Miami 22 (Friday): Senior quarterback Micah Rans broke his own school record for rushing yards in a game with 325 for the Class 1A, No. 11 Panthers in a Hoosier North road win over Class 1A, No. 10 North Miami Friday.

Rans had 16 carries, five of which ended in touchdowns. Noah VanMeter added 12 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown.

As a team, Pioneer ran for 440 yards on 12.6 yards per carry.

Phillip McFatridge had 27 yards rushing and a nine-yard reception on offense and intercepted a pass and returned it 21 yards on defense. He also had a 39-yard kickoff return and converted five of six extra points.

J.J. Solano had six solo tackles, nine assists and 1.5 tackles for loss. Mikaden Toloso had six solo tackles and eight assists. Eli Guffey took part in 12 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. VanMeter had 10 tackles, including 0.5 tackles for loss, and Colten Long had nine tackles and a tackle for loss. Shiloh Rine had nine tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss.

Rans had 322 yards against Carroll (Flora) in a 49-7 win.

Triton 35, Winamac 6 (Friday): Xavier Adriano had a one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, but Winamac managed just 105 yards of offense in a loss to host Triton Friday.

Tearson Wolford ran for 53 yards and also had seven tackles and four assists on defense. Ivan Cardenas had two carries for 20 yards. Louis Rugg III had an 11-yard reception.

Hayden Taylor had an interception. Michael Shidler had eight solo tackles and four assists.

Triton led 14-6 after three quarters before finishing with 21 unanswered points in the fourth.

Triton had a 287-94 advantage in rushing yards.

North Judson 41, Culver 0 (Friday): Evan McGowen ran for 84 yards, and Logan Pradke ran for a touchdown and had an 85-yard kickoff return for the host No. 5 Blue Jays in a win over conference and sectional rival Culver Friday.

North Judson beat Culver for the 13th straight time and shut them out for the fifth straight time.

North Judson led 29-0 at halftime.
