Caston falls to undefeated Knox at home; Pioneer commits 4 turnovers in loss to Judson; Culver blanked at LaVille; slow start dooms Winamac in loss to Triton

Tippecanoe Valley 51, Bremen 16 (Friday): Backup running back Wyatt Hart ran for 183 yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries, and the Valley defense held Bremen to 37 yards rushing in completing an undefeated regular season at Smith-Bibler Memorial Field Home of Death Valley Football Friday.

Valley had 391 yards rushing on 10.3 yards per carry even though both Nate Parker and Brandon Stiles missed the game due to foot injuries.

Trent Marshall had six catches for 89 yards and a touchdown, Wes Parker had two carries for 44 yards, and Dalton Alber also ran for a touchdown.

Wade Jones had two receptions for 28 yards on offense and also picked off two of Silas Ladig’s passes on defense.

Laidig threw for 196 yards, and Tyrus Graverson had seven receptions for 104 yards, and Reece Greene had six catches for 85 yards for Bremen, who fell to 4-5. Valley led 31-16 at halftime. Valley finished with their second undefeated regular season in the last three years. Valley is 31-2 in their last 33 regular season games. Valley coach Stephen Moriarty earned his 50th career win in his 74th game. Valley also beat Bremen for the first time since 2012. Valley, who moved up from No. 4 to a tie for No. 3 in this week’s Class 3A poll, will travel to-top-ranked Indianapolis Chatard in a Class 3A, Sectional 28 quarterfinal this Friday.

Knox 50, Caston 0 (Friday): Chase Angot led the Caston offense with 16 yards rushing, but Knox cruised to the Hoosier North road win at the Comet Crater Friday to clinch the outright conference title.

Caston had -10 yards of total offense.

Kyle Roudebush had six tackles on defense, blocked an extra point on special teams and had a 3-yard reception on offense. Grant Yadon had seven tackles. Gavin Mollenkopf had five tackles, Pete DuVall had four tackles, Levi Martin had three tackles, and Landen Rigney, Brody Brewer and Cameron McFathridge had two tackles each.

Noah Herd recovered a fumble.

Knox led 22-0 after one quarter and 50-0 at halftime.

Caston is 0-10 against Knox all-time. This was their final scheduled meeting.

North Judson 33, Pioneer 12 (Friday): Rylahn Toloza ran for 112 yards and a touchdown, and freshman Shiloh Rine ran for 45 yards and a touchdown on three carries, but North Judson claimed the Hoosier North road win at the Panther Pit Friday.

Cayden Hill ran for 46 yards on eight carries.

Pioneer quarterbacks Rine and Micah Rans did not complete a pass in five combined attempts. Each threw an interception, and Pioneer had four turnovers for the game.

Kole Wilcox ran for 127 yards and a touchdown, and Brock Benson ran for 63 yards and two scores. Quarterback Jesiah McDaniel accounted for 74 yards of offense, threw for a score and ran for a score.

Eli Guffey led the defense with 16 tackles, Hill had 15, and Tyler Zellers had 10. Guffey and Hille combined for 4.5 tackles for loss.

North Judson led 19-12 at halftime.

The teams will meet again at North Judson at 7:30 p.m. Eastern this Friday in a Class 1A, Sectional 41 quarterfinal.

LaVille 52, Culver 0 (Friday): LaVille built a 30-0 halftime lead and cruised to a win over visiting Culver in the regular season finale for both teams Friday.

Culver finished the regular season 0-9, 0-7 Hoosier North.

Class 2A, No. 5 LaVille improved to 8-1, 6-1.

Culver has not beaten LaVille since 2013. This was their final scheduled meeting.

Triton 35, Winamac 6 (Friday): Addison Allen ran for 100 yards, including a 62-yard touchdown in the second quarter, and he also had two receptions for 19 yards, but the Warriors could not overcome Triton’s 28-point first quarter in a loss at home Friday in the regular season finale for both teams.

Maddox Bucinski ran for 40 yards on 11 carries for Winamac, who finished the regular season 3-6, 2-5 Hoosier North.

Max Gearhart had a 30-yard reception from Cash Roth, and Bucinski also caught an 8-yard pass.

Winamac lost three fumbles, two of which came in the first quarter.

Vincent Prater ran for a pair of touchdowns in the first quarter, and Cole Shively threw two touchdown passes and also ran for a score for Triton, who moved up to No. 9 in this week’s Associated Press Class 1A poll.
