Widman shoots personal best at Battle Ground, but Rochester finishes 15th

The Rochester golf team shot a 405 and finished 15th out of 22 teams at the Lady Broncho Invitational at Battle Ground Golf Club Saturday.
Mooly Moore led Rochester with an 87. Lexi Haughs added a 97, Audrey Widman had a 109, Lily Chipps had a 112, and Makenna Jackson had a 125.
Widman’s score was a personal best for 18 holes. Her previous best was a 118 at the Rochester Invitational on Aug. 29.
Jackson, a freshman, was golfing in her first 18-hole event.
Zionsville, the defending state champion, won the team title with a 292. Westfield was second with a 294.
Zionsville’s Taylor Snively was the medalist with a 66. Snively, a junior, is the two-time defending state medalist.
Battle Ground will host the IHSAA state finals Oct. 2-3.
