Winamac’s Iverson finishes 12th, Smith 13th at Portage regional

Girls track

No athletes from Winamac qualified for the IHSAA state finals from the Portage regional Tuesday.

Marissa Iverson took 12th in the high jump with a leap of 4-10.

Maggie Smith, who played in the softball sectional one day earlier, finished 13th in the 800 in 2:32.30.

Smith also ran the anchor leg of the 4 x 800 relay that finished 14th in 10:56.91. Avery Wegner, Kelsey Wegner and Kadence Hoover ran the first three legs.

Valparaiso won the team title with 120 points. Lake Central was second with 77. Winamac did not score.
