Girls track
The Winamac girls track team scored 29 points and finished eighth out of 13 scoring teams at the Kankakee Valley sectional Tuesday.
Marissa Iverson and Maggie Smith advanced to next Tuesday’s Portage regional. Smith finished second in the high jump after clearing 4-10 and finished behind only North Judson’s Hannah Flores.
Smith ran a 2:28.73 in the 800 meters and finished third.
Those finishing in the top three in their event earned automatic berths at the regional.
Kankakee Valley won the team title with 160 points. Kouts was second with 122.5.
