Winamac softball routs LaCrosse in season opener

Winamac 14, LaCrosse 1 (5 innings, Tuesday): Emma Goodman and Alexis Sheets each homered, and Ella Gearhart went 4 for 4 with four RBIs and two runs scored for the visiting Lady Warriors in a win over LaCrosse in their season opener Tuesday.

Sheets went 3 for 3 with two RBIs, and Emma Goodman went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs. Samantha Perry had two hits and three RBIs, and Maggie Smith also had two hits. Kaya Campbell and Ella Hague each had a single and an RBI.

Gearhart also pitched a two-hitter with three walks and seven strikeouts.

Winamac scored four runs in the top of the first and never trailed.
