Zimpleman has 16 digs, 23 serves received, but Caston falls to Southwood in sectional for 3rd year

Volleyball

Addison Zimpleman

The Caston volleyball team lost to Southwood 25-13, 25-22, 25-9 in a Class 1A, Sectional 53 semifinal at Southwood Saturday.

Macee Hinderlider led with five kills, and Addison Zimpleman had four kills and a team-high 16 digs and 23 serves received. Alexa Finke and Isabel Scales had two blocks each. Makena Middleton and Annie Harsh had nie digs each. Harsh also led with seven assists, and Middleton had five. Scales also had 18 serves received, and Hinderlider had 11.

Grace Drake and Shania Rhamy had 12 kills each, and Hali Pershing had 11 kills for the No. 4 Lady Knights.

Caston finished the season 24-8. They lost to Southwood in the sectional for the third straight year. They have never won a volleyball sectional.

Macee Hinderlider

Northfield eliminated Lakeland Christian 25-19, 25-23, 25-13 in the second semifinal. Southwood then went on to beat Northfield 25-5, 25-21, 25-8 in the final Saturday night. Southwood won their third straight sectional title and their 27th in school history. They will host the regional this Saturday.
