Boys basketball

Triton 71, Winamac 48 (Dec. 22): Beau Brandt scored 12 points, and Russell Compton added 10, but the visiting Warriors dropped their season and Hoosier North openers to Triton Dec. 22.

Tyson Yates scored a game-high 22 points for Triton. Ashton Oviedo hit three 3-pointers and scored 16. Bruce Johnson hit five treys and scored 15.

Triton hit 10 3-pointers in the first half and led 51-27 at halftime.

South Bend St. Joe 49, Winamac 32 (Dec. 22): Kaya Campbell hit three 3-pointers and scored 20 points, but Winamac lost at home to South Bend St. Joe Dec. 22.

Maggie Smith led the Lady Warriors with 12 rebounds and two blocked shots.

South Bend St. Joe led 24-16 at halftime and extended the lead to 38-20 after three quarters.

This game was an addition to the schedule after Winamac’s game with Covenant Christian (DeMotte) was canceled.
