North Judson def. Winamac, 25-23, 25-16, 25-14 (final, Saturday)
Winamac def. Hebron, 25-22, 25-22, 25-11 (semifinal, Saturday) Maggie Smith had 15 kills, but the Lady Warriors fell to North Judson in the Class 2A, Sectional 34 final at Boone Grove Saturday night.
Winamac finished the season 8-16. North Judson avenged a loss in four games in their regular season meeting on Oct. 5. North Judson will play Rochester in a regional semifinal at LaVille at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Smith and McKenzie Hinz added two blocks each. Hinz also had a team-high nine digs, and Aubrey Gearhart and Ella Gearhart had eight digs each.
Aubrey Gearhart had 17 assists. Ella Gearhart had 13 serves received, and Kaya Campbell had 11.
Winamac reached the final with a win in three games over Hebron earlier Saturday. Smith led with 25 kills, three aces, three blocks, seven digs, two assists and nine serves received. Hinz had nine kills and four blocks. Ella Gearhart had five aces and 14 serves received. Alyssa Villanueva had nine digs and 15 serves received. Aubrey Gearhart had eight digs and 36 assists.
North Judson advanced to the final after Rensselaer, their semifinal opponent, was forced to withdraw due to the coronavirus pandemic.
